Obituary: Charles Livesay
Charles Livesay
Charles “Chuck” Livesay, 73, of Sweet Home, died at his home on the morning of Feb. 24, 2010.
He was born March 5, 1936 in Blue Sulphur Springs, W.V. to Frank Albert and Edith Mary (Bryant) Livesay.
In 1964 Mr. Livesay moved to Oregon where he met and married Donna Johnson. They moved to Sweet Home in 1966. He worked as a timber faller for John Bumbarger for many years until he was injured in a logging accident in 1978.
Mr. Livesay enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He loved to read, watch sports on TV, and was a great storyteller. He didn’t know a stranger.
He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, a member and past president of the Moose Lodge, participated in various bowling leagues and was a member of the Sweet Home Rodeo Board.
Mr. Livesay is survived by his wife, Donna; children Sylvia (Patti) Van Sickle of Dallas, Charles Ray Livesay and Timothy Alan Livesay of Columbus, Ohio, Debra K. Livesay and Gina Marie Radley of Sweet Home, Sheila Gayle Cole of Reynoldsberg, Ohio and Sheila Kay Livesay of McMinville; sister Betty Loudermilk of Hebron, Ohio; 21 grandchildren and 19-plus great-grand children.
He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Douglas Livesay (1980); sister Lucille Temple; and brothers Ralph Livesay and James Livesay.
Services were held March 1 at Sweet Home Christian Church. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
