Donald Anderson
Donald “Don” Lorene Anderson, 76, of The Dalles died at a local care facility on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010.
He was born in Sweet Home on Sept. 7, 1933 the youngest of five children to Albert and Bessie G. Anderson. He grew up in Sweet Home where he graduated in 1952.
He served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne.
Mr. Anderson married Carolyn Sue Hall in York, S.C., on Dec. 17, 1955. He worked as an air traffic controller in Bozeman, Mont., and The Dalles until he retired.
He resided in The Dalles since 1960 and was a member of the Covenant Christian Church.
He enjoyed flying, riding motorcycles, fishing and spending time with his granddaughter, Ellie.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Anderson of The Dalles; sons, Charles K. Anderson of The Dalles and Ed H. Anderson and wife, Amanda, of Eugene; a granddaughter; sister, Dorothy Owens of Everett, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
A memorial service was held on Feb. 9 at Covenant Christian Church with Pastor Brett Hartley officiating.
