Mary Jane Garner, 64, of Lebanon died at her home March 4, 2010.

She was born June 7, 1945 in Salem, the daughter of George and Mary (Amick) Schackmann. She grew up and attended her schooling in the Salem area. She married Richard A. Garner, Sr. in Salem in 1964.

The couple made their home in the Sodaville area near Lebanon. Mrs. Garner was co-owner of the Sodaville Body and Paint for many years. She was also the co-owner and operator of video stores in Lebanon and Sweet Home.

Mrs. Garner loved animals and would never turn away a stray. She also enjoyed growing flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Garner, Sr. of Lebanon; sons Richard “Rich” Allen Garner of Washougal, Wash., and Richard A. “Bo” Garner, Jr. of Lebanon; mother Mary Edda Schackmann of Albany; brother Don Schackmann of Naselle, Wash.; and sisters Linda Lunski of Albany, Darlene Walls of Reedsport, Deanna Schackmann of Texas, Roberta Freeman of Stayton and Esther Schackmann of Salem.

A private family gathering will be held.
