Obituary: Boyd Roberts
Boyd Roberts
Boyd L. Roberts, 85, of Lebanon, died March 1, 2010 of causes related to age.
He was born Dec. 12, 1924, in Aurora to Cecil and Inez (Pruitt) Roberts.
He graduated from high school in Grants Pass prior to joining the U.S. Army in 1943. He served during World War II and was with some of the first American troops to enter the concentration camps.
He married Wilda Ferguson on June 6, 1948 in Corvallis. He was the owner of Boyd Roberts Logging in Cottage Grove and Eugene and Western Auto in Lebanon.
Survivors include his wife, Wilda; daughter Julie Foss of Lebanon; son Jim Roberts of Portland; six grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.
Services, including military honors, were held March 8 at Grant Street Church of Christ in Lebanon and at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
Remembrances can be made to Church of Christ, 210 East Grant St., Lebanon, Oregon 97355-4109.
Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
