Cole, Whitfield girls hoops MVPs

Girls basketball award winners are, from left, Rylee Cole, Devyn Makin, Annie Whitfield, Sabrina Davis and Megan Graville.

Rylee Cole was named Offensive Player of the Year, and Annie Whitfield was named Defensive Player of the Year for the Sweet Home High School girls basketball team.

Cole also won the Free Throw Award during the team’s awards dessert held on March 8. Whitfield also won the team’s Hustle Award. Devyn Makin received the Sportsmanship Award. Sabrina Davis and Megan Graville received the Coaches Award.

Davis was named the Offensive Player for the junior varsity squad. Graville received the Defensive Player. Kendall Anderson received the Free Throw Award. Chloe Muir received the Sportsmanship Award, and Jasmin Yoder received the Hustle Award.

Whitfield was named to the all-league second team. Cole and Cortnie Cuilla received all-league honorable mention.

First-year letter winners included Graville, Sarah Wyatt, Yoder, Katie Nicholson, S. Davis and Randi Muir.

Second-year letter winners were Whitfield, Megan Rubidoux, Makin, Emili Riggs and Cuilla.

Third-year letter winners were Cole and Kishya Davis.

The team finished the year 4-18 overall and 3-9 in league. The JV finished 6-13 overall and 5-7 in league.
