Albany man arrested in Sweet Home burglary

An Albany man was arrested early Sunday morning after Linn County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglary in progress in the 28000 block of Ridgeway Road in Sweet Home.

Sheriff Michelle Duncan said Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received an alarm at 4:41 a.m. from the location. Deputies responded and found a broken window on arrival. K-9 Oak was deployed after hearing movement in what should have been a vacant house.

A male later identified as Marco Ashe, 39, of Albany, escaped through another window, attempting to run from the deputies.

With the assistance from Oak, Ashe was captured He was treated by medics for minor injuries at the scene and then transported to the Linn County Jail, where he was lodged on charges of first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree escape, and felon in possession of a restricted weapon.
