Keys takes third in National Championships decathlon

Sweet Home alum Dakotah Keys moved from fifth place to third in the final event of the NCAA Division I National Championships decathlon event Thursday

Keys finished second in the 1500-meter run in 4:28.29, just short of his best of 4:24.21 clocked earlier this season, to score a personal-best total of 8068 points, good for third behind last year’s winner Johannes Hock of Texas, who finished second (8092) and Maicel Uibo of Georgia (8182), who finished the 1500 seven-tenths of a second behind Keys.
