Freddy Bratton plants a pinwheel at Sweet Home Police Department, a symbolic gesture to raise awareness about child abuse during April, officially Child Abuse Awareness Month. Sweet Home Police Department Community Services Officer Gina Riley urged members of the public to remember that something might be happening to a child and to report if they suspect it. While people sometimes may not want to get involved, she said, "some little child needs you to be their voice." Riley said that proceeds from the sale of pinwheels will pay for gas cards to help child abuse victims access the services of ABC House, which is located in Albany.
