A rollover accident on Highway 228 Monday evening, Sept. 23, resulted to damage to a homeowner's property, but did not severely injure any of the people involved, according to fire and police reports. According to Oregon State Police, a GMC Denali driven by Connie Miranda Shimon, 25, of Junction City, was pulling a trailer carrying a Toyota Four Runner when it fishtailed on a curve, causing Shimon to lose control. The direction of travel was not clear from the police reports, but the vehicles ended up in a pile on the south side of the highway, taking out some trees and a sign. Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District personnel responded at 6:42 p.m. According to a police report and Fire Chief Dave Barringer, Shimon and an infant passenger, who was unnamed but listed as being from Sweet Home, were transported to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital for evaluation as a precaution, then released. No citations were issued, according to the police report. Both vehicles and the trailer were removed by AllStar Towing, according to OSP.
