The Sweet Home Oregon Coalition for Artistic and Scholastic Enrichment will present the SHARC Showdown talent in April, date to be announced, in the Sweet Home High School auditorium, 1641 Long St.
The group invites the Sweet Home community to participate and compete for cash prizes. The event includes a children’s division.
Those who wish to compete should fill out a registration form at The New Era, 1313 Main St.; the Chamber of Commerce, 1575 Main St.; or via the SHARC Showdown Facebook page.
The event is open to any kind of talent. Music may have an accompaniment track, but background tracks with vocals are prohibited.
Admission to the event is free. Spectators are welcome to stuff a ballot box for the People’s Choice award, and raffle prizes will be available.
Special performances will be given by Moriah Winn, the a cappella group Voices in Your Head and a pit band.
Proceeds from the event have gone toward improving the high school auditorium and contributed most recently toward the purchase of permanent sound equipment. Proceeds from this year’s SHARC Showdown will be used by SHOCASE to help pay for community and school projects to promote the arts.
