Rooster Rock fire suppression gets help from several SH firefighters

Four personnel from the Oregon Department of Forestry Sweet Home Unit were part of the initial attack on the Rooster Rock fire south of Sisters last week.
"We sent an engine to assist them during the initial attack," said Wildland Fire Supervisor Chad Calderwood. The engine and four employees remained on scene for a few days while the long-term fire crews and camp were set up.
The fire, approximately 6 miles south of Sisters, was reported on Aug. 2. It burned approximately 6,134 acres.
