Thanks to mystery grave decorator

April 21, 2015

On Saturday, April 11, I took my mother, Donna Davis, to the cemetery to put flowers on my brother’s and father’s gravesites.

My dad was Norm Davis, teacher and coach at Sweet Home High School from 1968 to 1996.

As we made our way towards their graves, I noticed something at Dad’s – and it wasn’t flowers. Someone had left a football sitting on a kicker’s stand.

My mom and I both burst into tears at the knowledge of the impact Dad had made on so many people. He was mainly known as the wrestling coach, but was also the football coach during his first four years at the high school.

Trying to figure out who this could have been is a mystery.

I wanted to say “thank you” to this person, as it really touched our hearts. When you lose a loved one, you feel as if you’re the only one missing them and remembering them. A gesture like this is a reminder that others still miss and remember Norm Davis as well.
