Foundation presents $9,000-plus to local organizations

RECEIVING grant awards from the Sweet Home Community Foundation are, from left, Karen Bostrom from the Sweet Home Pregnancy Center, Kris Latimer and Sarah Gray of the Boys and Girls Club, Cindy Rice of Sweet Home Emergency Ministries, Norene Dennis of Meals on Wheels, Deborah Rehart and Tim Swanson of Oaks Heights Elementary and Michael Rolph of Sweet Home High School.

The Sweet Home Community Foundation awarded over $9,000 in grants to local organizations April 5 in a ceremony held in the City Hall Annex building.

Grants were awarded as follows:

-- $853 to Sweet Home Pregnancy Care Center for the purchase of car seats, children’s vitamins and adult prenatal vitamins, and DVDs for the center’s Parenting Program­–Baby Safety Project.

-- $2,500 to the Oregon Cascades West Council of Governments for its Senior Meals/Meals on Wheels program, which provides hot meals to Sweet Home-area seniors and people with disabilities on Mondays, Tuesdays...
