Samaritan gives grants

July 5, 2016

Karen Bostrom, left of the Sweet Home Pregnancy Care Center, and Julie Dedman, board chair of Sweet Home Emergency Ministries (SHEM) hold donation checks they received June 24 from Samaritan CEO Larry Mullins, center, at a luncheon at Boulder Creek Inn. The annual grants, made this year to some 50 organizations in Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties, are a way to publicly recognize those who are meeting health needs in their communities and to assist them in those efforts to ensure long-term success, Mullins said, noting that this year’s awards total about $500,000 – double what was handed out in recent years. Also receiving a grant was the Boys and Girls Club of South Santiam. Grant amounts were not disclosed.
