Sportsman's Holiday Court: Elea Hewitt

July 5, 2016

Eleanor “Elea” Hewitt, 17, is the daughter of Pam and Bo Hewitt.

She will be a senior at Sweet Home High School next year, and she has two siblings, Sarah Hewitt, 14, and Josie Hewitt, 12.

“I enjoy volunteering in my community, and the Sportsman’s Holiday Court was the perfect opportunity to become more involved and meet my community members.

“I am thankful for the small town and the rural location. The natural beauty of the area is wonderful and sets our town apart.”

Hewitt is the president of Key Club. She is a member of the South Santiam Youth Watershed Council, a member of the Sweet Home High School swim team and a volunteer at Sweet Home Emergency Ministries.

After high school, she intends to attend college to become a surgeon. She plans to work with Doctors Without Borders and help those in need.

While serving on the court, “I hope to be an example to the young people in my community as well as show adults that teenagers are willing to contribute to society,” Hewitt said.

“I hope to improve the way adults view teens and young adults by setting an example. By my participation on the court, I am able to reach more people and spread my message.”
