Linn County deputies arrested a 31-year-old woman Saturday night, July 9, for allegedly stabbing a 57-year-old man at a Riggs Hill Road location.

Arrested was Christina Marr of Sweet Home for first-degree assault. The victim was Scott Hall, 57.

Marr was arraigned on Monday in Linn County Circuit Court.

The District Attorney is reviewing the case, said Undersheriff Jim Yon.

It is unknown if there will be any additional charges.

The case will be presented to a grand jury, Yon said.

Marr was lodged at the Linn County Jail. Her bail was set at $50,000.

Linn County deputies responded to a reported stabbing at 9 p.m. on July 9 in the 27000 block of Riggs Hill Road.

An investigation revealed Marr and Hall had resided together for a short time, less than a month, Yon said. During an altercation over a purse, Marr allegedly stabbed Hall multiple times with a knife.

Hall was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis with non-life threatening injuries. He was just stitched up and released, Yon said.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sweet Home Fire Department and Sweet Home Police Department.

In general, The New Era does not report on the criminal history of victims in criminal cases, but there has been considerable Facebook chatter in the community regarding Hall’s past – particularly what posters describe as a rape conviction.

Court records reveal that Hall is listed as a predator in the Oregon Sex Offender Inquiry System. In 1991, he was convicted of misdemeanor public indecency. In 1992, he was convicted of first-degree sodomy. In 1992, he was convicted of first-degree felony burglary. In 2006, he was convicted of felony public indecency.

Hall has a settlement conference hearing on July 13 for charges of failure to register as a sex offender, as he was required, between Aug. 1, 2015 and Jan. 16, 2016.
