Volunteers needed

for Salmon Watch

The Linn Benton Salmon Watch Field Trip Program is looking for volunteers to help teach hands-on science to fifth- and sixth-grade students from the mid-Willamette Valley schools.

The field trips take place on the South Santiam River in September and the Alsea River later in the fall. Volunteers will help students observe salmon spawning, take macroinvertebrate samples, test water quality, and make stream bank assessments to better understand watershed health.

The Linn Benton Salmon Watch partners are holding two free trainings, on Sept. 10 and Oct. 15...
