Paula Teresa Hunton, 65, of Sweet Home died Sept. 17, 2016.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.

Donald Higgins II

June 4, 1962 – Sept. 2, 2016

Donald Rodger Higgins II, 54, of Sweet Home, died Sept. 2, 2016 at Evergreen Hospice House in Albany, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born in Fairview, N.M. to Donald Rodger and Mary Lou Vasbinder Higgins.

He attended school in Toledo and spent most of his adult life in the Willamette Valley. Mr. Higgins enjoyed working on cars and was very good at carpentry work. He loved telling stories and making people smile.

Mr. Higgins is survived by his father, Donald Higgins; his four children, Felicia Rowe, Cassandra Drew, Donald Elpel and Melissa Higgins; a brother, Gregory Higgins; sisters Wendy Elsom, Edith Higgins and Mary Argetsinger; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Higgins was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Higgins, in 1984, and his brother James Higgins, in 1977.

A celebration of life/pot luck is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Reigning Glory Ministry Center, 450 Oak Terrace, Sweet Home.

Eugene Patterson

June 26, 1928 – Sept. 17, 2016

Eugene A.C. Patterson, 88, of Sweet Home died Sept. 17, 2016.

He was born June 26, 1928 in Webster City, Iowa, the son of John and Ora (Trent) Patterson.

He married June Newcomb on July 4, 1947.

Mr. Patterson enlisted in United States Marine Corps and served in the 3rd Marine 2nd Battalion from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. After he returned, the Pattersons lived in Iowa, then later in Southern California. In the late 1960s they settled in Sweet Home.

Mr. Patterson operated an auto body shop where the Wells Fargo bank now stands. He loved working on cars and appreciated well-done auto body work. He was a model railroader and always had a new set up he was working on.

Mr. Patterson was a member of Sweet Home Evangelical Church. They became his family after June passed away.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June, and all of his siblings.

A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Sweet Home Evangelical Church. Contributions in his name can be sent to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice or Sweet Home Evangelical Church.

Tommy Stone

March 13, 1960 – Sept. 13, 2016

Tommy Howard Stone, 56, of Sweet Home died Sept. 13, 2016.

He was born March 13, 1960 in Coleman, Texas.

He served in the United States Army from 1978 to 1981. He received a master’s degree in architectural design.

He worked building homes, driving truck and operating his own landscaping company.

Mr. Stone lived in Texas most of his adult life. He came to Sweet Home in 2015 with his wife.

He loved fishing, outdoors, hunting and bow hunting. He had a collection of knives that he picked up over the years. He was very involved with the Army and working with veterans.

Mr. Stone is survived by his wife, Bonnie Stone of Sweet Home; son Brian Stone of Odessa, Texas; daughter Samantha Stone of Arlington, Texas; mother Jean Clawson of Casper, Wyo .; brother Terry Stone of Casper, Wyo .; one granddaughter; an aunt, Linda King of Odessa, Texas; and a cousin, Sandra Foster of Odessa, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father.
