Husky spikers open league with win over Junction City

Sweet Home’s volleyball team opened its league campaign Thursday with a 3-1 win over Junction City at home.

The Huskies won the first game decisively, 25-13, then got sloppy and lost Game 2 21-25.

“I felt like we played well, but we lost focus a little bit in the second game,” Coach Mary Hutchins said. “We let some dumb stuff drop.”

Sweet Home reloaded and delivered its “best game ever” in Game 3, winning 25-9.

Then the Huskies got sloppy again, trailing 22-19 in the fourth game, when Hutchins called time out.
