Saturday’s Harvest Festival to feature lots of tradition

MEGAN OBERG climbs a Douglas fir in Sankey Park during last year’s Harvest Festival. The ever-popular Pacific Tree Climbing Institute, which provides equipment for the activity, is scheduled to return this year, officials say.

Sweet Home residents are invited to spend part of Saturday in Sankey Park climbing trees, listening to music, playing games and generally having fun.

The City of Sweet Home will host its annual Harvest Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in Sankey Park.

“We’re going to have the pumpkin decorating and the tree climbing, the same guys as last year (Pacific Tree Climbing Institute) because everybody loves them,” said Katie Wilcox, assistant planner.
