Spikers finish regular season with 3 losses, to meet Douglas in play-in game

Sweet Home’s volleyball team gets one more chance to extend its season.

The Huskies finished their regular season with losses to Sisters (3-0), Sutherlin (3-2) and Cottage Grove (3-0), the latter on Monday night, Oct. 17.

On Tuesday Sweet Home learned that it has qualified for a play-in game to the state tournament at Douglas. Game time and date will be determined.

The Huskies gave Sutherlin a run for its money in a tight match at home, winning the first two games 25-19, 25-22, before losing a barnburner of a third game, 30-28. Sweet Home was still in it in Game 4, 23-24, when Kayley...
