Council hires firm to design City Hall interior

THE FORMER USFS Sweet Home Ranger District headquarters now belongs to the city, which is working to develop it for use as a City Hall.

The Sweet Home City Council last week accepted a $6,000 quote from Scott/Edwards Architecture for schematic designs, preliminary engineering and cost estimates to reconstruct the interior of a new City Hall.

The city purchased the building at 3225 Main St., the former U.S. Forest Service Sweet Home Ranger District office, earlier this year for $750,000.

City officials contacted three architect services for quotes, said Finance Director Pat Gray. Scott/ Edwards provided a quote for $6,000, while gLAs Architecture proposed $6,500 and BBL Architects quoted $22,072.50.
