Dennis Horn May 3, 1949 - Nov. 27, 2016

December 6, 2016

On the morning of Nov. 27, 2016, Dennis Eugene Horn passed peacefully at his home after a long battle with colon cancer.

We lost an amazing father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend.

Dennis was born on May 3, 1949 in Oregon City and grew up in Sweet Home.

Dennis served in the U.S. Navy and returned to Oregon. He started his family there, with two daughters. He attended Oregon College of Education (OCE), where he met and married the love of his life, partner and best friend Marlene Teel in September of 1982.

The family lived first in Cheyenne, then Great Falls and then settled in East Helena more than 30 years ago.

Dennis’ work varied from sales to construction and then he got his accounting degree. He retired in 2010.

Dennis spent all the time he could enjoying the great life in Montana. He could talk sports and politics, he loved golfing, fly fishing and hunting with his wife and friends. He loved to teach and share all of his skills with children and friends.

Those he loved so much are: surviving wife Marlene Teel; daughters Ami Wyckoff (Heath); Staci Mueller (Erik); grandkids Jaden, Lexie, Ashli and Corry; and great-granddaughter Kylin; as well as his siblings, Stan Horn (Dianna), Jeneane Dunmyer, and Tom Horn (Kathy); too many friends to mention, and his dog Rowdy.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Horn.

Per Dennis’ request, there will be no service following his cremation. He had the opportunity to spend his last days surrounded by family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Montana Healing Waters at Montanahealingwaters.org or PO Box 1798, Helena, MT, 59624.
