Minus top swimmers, boys take first against district foes

Sweet Home’s boys opened their swimming season Friday, Dec. 2, with a win over four other teams at the Sweet Home pool.

Sweet Home scored 86 points to 77 for second-place Blanchet Catholic. Blanchet outscored the girls 115-83 as the Huskies were missing their top club swimmers on both the boys and girls sides, as those were swimming in a club meet.

“This was a great opening meet for the season,” Coach Doug Peargin said. “Every swimmer that swam for us scored points.”

As a team, Sweet Home had 18 personal bests, though some of those were from freshmen and first-year swimmers....
