Husky boys fall to Siuslaw, S. Umpqua

Sweet Home lost 49-46 to Siuslaw and 65-57 to South Umpqua at home last week in boys basketball.

Against Siuslaw on Dec. 19, “we played hard all game,” said Coach Drew Emmert. Siuslaw kept the Huskies out of the paint with a 2-3 zone that included 6-7 Trent Reavis, the entire game, and the Huskies didn’t shoot well in a tight game in which the Vikings led 10-9 after a quarter and tied Sweet Home 26-26 at halftime.

Siuslaw edged ahead of the Huskies, 35-34, by the end of the third quarter. Trailing by just a point at the end of the game, the Huskies turned the ball over out of bound...
