Fun at the library: Loading up the Legos

Carter Hay, 9, adds a library book to the stack on top of a Lego bridge he built Saturday afternoon during Take Your Child to the Library Day, part of a celebration of the Sweet Home Library’s 75th year. When the photographer moved on, Carter had 32 books on the bridge – (nobody said it had to be a long bridge). He was one of nearly a dozen children who participated in the exercise.

Sweet Home residents of all ages had some fun at the library Saturday in a wide variety of activities as part of the celebration of the institution’s 75th anniversary. Doug Robin, Jo Ann McQueary, Librarian Rose Peda, Donna Short and Lydia Hall toss colored cheesecloth provided by visiting artist Sal Strom in a “celebration of art.”
