Girls lose against JC, CG

The Sweet Home High School girls varsity basketball team lost to Cottage Grove 43-21 at home Friday and Junction City 59-21 on the road Feb. 7.

Friday, Cottage Grove led 9-6 after one quarter and 18-11 at halftime. the Lions gained most of their ground in the third quarter, leading 34-15 heading into the fourth quarter.

April Underwood led the Huskies with nine points.

On Feb. 10, Junction City built a 16-4 lead after one quarter then led 24-13 at halftime and 40-18 after three quarters.

Makayla Towry led the Huskies with 10 points.

The girls were scheduled to host Elmira Tuesday in their final home appearance and will travel to Sutherlin Friday to finish the season.
