Marlene Anne Zurcher, 81, of Sweet Home, died peacefully at her home, with her children by her side on May 28, 2017.

She was born June 30, 1935 in Vernonia to Gloyd E. Adams and Marian G. (Shuttick) Adams.

She grew up with her brother and sister on the family farm in Berlin, where many family memories were made.

Mrs. Zurcher was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many.

She had a quick wit and a zest for life. She was loved by all.

She was a member of Fir Lawn Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed rejoicing with her friends.

She looked forward to a yearly trip with all of her cousins, where much love and laughter was shared.

She enjoyed art, painting, drawing, ceramics and playing the piano.

She had a great love for horses while growing up on the family farm.

Mrs. Zurcher is survived by her children, Dennis and daughter-in-law Shelly Blackford of Sweet Home; Cindy (Zurcher) Brown of Salem; Marvin Zurcher of Lebanon; sister Trudy and brother-in-law Steve Cardwell of Beaverton; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gloyd E. and Marian G. (Shuttick) Adams; and brother Gloyd “Skip” Adams.

A memorial in celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 30, at the Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
