SH motorcyclist killed

A Sweet Home motorcyclist was killed Thursday, July 6, in a head-on collision with a log truck.

David Michael Tunnell, 31, was eastbound about 12:15 p.m. on Little Fall Creek Road, southeast of Springfield, when his motorcycle crossed the centerline and collided with the log truck, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, according to a report by the Register-Guard newspaper.

Tunnell was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the log truck was evaluated by medics. Further information was not available from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
