Country band at

The Point Friday

Kelsey Bales and The Sons of the Storm will provide entertainment at The Point at 7 p.m. Friday, July 28.

Bales and her high-energy band play a mix of today’s country, honky tonk and original music.

Blues guitarist to play Marks Ridge

Mike McLaren will play at Marks Ridge Winery at 7 p.m. Friday, July 28.

McLaren plays fingerstyle guitar with a mix of blues and classic Americana.

The winery will provide the wine and participants are welcome to bring cheese, crackers or a picnic dinner. Cost is $10.

Free movie at

Mennonite Church

Sweet Home Mennonite Church will show "Second Hand Lions” at a free outdoor family movie night at 8 p.m. Friday, July 28, at 1266 44th Ave.

Snacks will be provided. Bring chairs or blankets.

Shine up the town

for the Jamboree

A community clean-up day in Sweet Home will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 29.

A safety meeting will be held in the parking lot by the Rio Theatre at 8:30. All volunteers must attend. Groups depart at 9 a.m.

Dress to get dirty. Gloves are required.

Latino culture fest

in Albany Saturday

Festival Latino, a celebration of south-of-the-border culture, will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 30, in Monteith Riverpark, Water Ave. and Washington St., Albany.

Entertainers will include Puerto Rico-rooted salsa band Salsanova from Portland, Ballet Folklorico Tlanese from Salem and trick roper Antonio Huerta from Eugene.

There will be a variety of free kids activities, food booths, zumba session, free health screenings and nonprofit resource booths.

Accordianist to

play at market

Sweet Home Farmers Market features regular music during operating hours, Tuesdays from 2 to 6 p.m. in the City Hall parking lot at 12th and Kalmia.

Music on Aug. 1 will be Meg Graff playing accordion polka music.

‘My Fair Lady’ on stage Aug. 1-5

Lebanon Association for Theater Arts will present My Fair Lady at 7 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday, Aug. 1 to Aug. 5, with a matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5.

My Fair Lady is a Broadway Musical from 1956.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for student/senior tickets.

Tickets are sold in Lebanon at Linn Co Credit Union, Umpqua Bank and Lebanon Chamber of Commerce.

Meals on Wheels

weekly menu

Meals on Wheels, also known as Your Table or Ours, offers lunch at the Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

The Senior Center serves a separate lunch on Wednesdays.

First-time diners are invited to come in and have a free lunch to give it a try.

Suggested donation is $3.50. All meals are served with milk, coffee or tea upon request and diabetic desserts are available on request.

The menu on Friday, July 28, is chicken with peanut sauce and pastas or beef stuffed green pepper, cut green beans, tossed salad, sunflower seed roll and butterscotch bar.

The menu on Monday, July 31, is turkey divan bake or beef rigatoni, green peas, marinated zucchini salad, white dinner roll and orange whip.

The menu on Tuesday, Aug. 1, is hearty chicken stew or beef chili with beans, whole kernel corn, garden vegetable salad, cornmeal roll and banana chocolate chip bar.

Volunteers are needed for both kitchen help and meal delivery.
