Corvallis runner leads the pack in Solar Eclipse race

WINNER Trevor Grandy crosses the finish line past timer Ray Towry, also Sweet Home’s city manager.

Former Wittenberg College (Ohio) runner Trevor Grandy, now of Corvallis, wa sthe winner of the Solar Eclipse 3.5-mile run Saturday morning, Aug. 19, at Sankey Park.

Grandy covered the distance in 18:42, just over a minute ahead of Sweet Home’s Tanner Sayer, who will be a junior in high school this fall, and who ran 19:51.

The women’s winner was Jackie Fisher of Lake Oswego, who ran 27:22.

A total of 103 runners and walkers, just under half of them from Sweet Home, from as far away as Hawaii and Texas, finished the course, which ran from Weddle Bridge to Long Street, then to 29th Ave...
