Almettia Naeve, 86, of Sweet Home died Oct. 14, 2017 in Forest Grove.

She was born June 10, 1931 in Wauson, Okla. to Alfonzo and Jennie D. (Rowell) Minyen.

She came to Oregon in the late 1940s and moved to Sweet Home in the early 1950s. She met and married Donald Joe Naeve on June 9, 1973. She remained in Sweet Home until she moved to a nursing facility in Forest Grove in 2013.

Mrs. Naeve owned and operated Almettia’s Beauty Salon on Main Street in Sweet Home for 36 years. She faithfully followed her Lord and Savior all of her life.

She loved to go hunting, camping, water skiing and to garden. She loved her flowers.

Mrs. Naeve is survived by a daughter, Kelta Smith of Lebanon; step-sons Bill Naeve, Shawn Naeve and Steve Naeve, all of Vernonia; step-daughter Shelli Naeve of Vernonia; 17 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Joe Naeve, in 1996; two sisters, Leatrice Hall and Vetrie McElhaney; and brothers Aca and Alforest Minyen.

Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Harvest Christian Center in Sweet Home. Final burial will be at 2 p.m. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Lebanon.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Harvest Christian Center.
