Grace Irene Ford, 74, of North Bend, formerly of Sweet Home, died Nov. 1, 2017 in Coos Bay.

She was born March 22, 1943 in Bell, Calif. to Herman Clyde Flowers and Gerane (Bradshaw) Flowers. She graduated from Sonora High School 1961. She married William James Ford in Torrance, Calif. April 28, 1962.

The Fords moved from Los Angeles, Calif. to Cascadia in 1965 and a couple of years later moved into Sweet Home. Mrs. Ford retired from Weyerhaeuser after 20 years in 2005.

After her husband’s death, she moved to North Bend, in 2010.

She was a member of Shoreline Community Church since 2011 and of Sweet Home Community Chapel for several years before moving to North Bend. She was an active member of TOPS group 300 of North Bend and the Red Hat Society.

Mrs. Ford was an avid golfer most of her adult life. She also played softball and competed in the bowling league in Sweet Home.

She loved to watch her kids in all their sporting events and loved the sport of baseball. Mrs. Ford loved to play cards and games and spend time with friends and family.

She is survived by sons Charlie Ford of Vancouver, Wash. and David Ford of Sweet Home; daughter Kelly and son-in-law John Conrad of North Bend; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and sister, Elsie Lomeli of California.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Grace Ford’s name to Life Change Church mission fund, 200 Ackerman Ave., Coos Bay, Oregon 97420.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, at Shoreline Community Church, 1251 Clark St., in North Bend, with pastor Mike Barnard officiating.
