Four straight days of wrestling take toll as SH finishes 4th at Oregon Classic

Winding up an intense four straight days of wrestling, Sweet Home ran out of gas Saturday at the Oregon Classic tournament in Redmond.

The Huskies finished fourth, after losing 55-24 to La Grande, a team they had beaten two days earlier, and 47-25 to Tillamook.

"I se this schedule up to be tough," Coach Steve Thorpe said Monday in a hoarse voice. "I didn't estimate how tough it was going to be to wrestle four days in a row. We just kind of hit a wall (Saturday). We had injuries. That's how it goes.

"I was proud of how we competed."
