Callie Baker and Luke Shiffert

Sweet Home's Forestry Club took second place as a team in the state championship held April 27-28 at Hopkins Demonstration Forest near Oregon City.

Individually, Luke Shiffert took Overall Jack as the top boy and Callie Baker was Overall Jill.

Baker finished with 69 points. She was first in Log Scaling, first in Jill Power Buck, first in Jill-Jill Cable Splice, first in Jack-Jill Cable Splice, third in First Aid, third in Jack-Jill Cross Cut, fourth in Timber Cruising, fourth in Hose Lay, fourth in Written Expression, fourth in Jill-Jill Cross Cut, and sixth in Chokers.  

Shiffert finished with 67 points. He was first in Demo Speech, first in First Aid, first in Jack-Jill Cable Splicing, second in Jack Pole Climb, third in Jack Power Buck, third in Jack-Jill Cross Cut, third in Jack-Jack Cross Cut, fourth in Hose Lay, fourth in Jack-Jack Cable Splicing, and sixth in Timber Cruising.  

Zech Brown finished with 56 points. He was first in Jack Power Buck, first in First Aid, first in Job Interview, third in Jack Arbor, third in Jack-Jack Cross Cut, fourth in Jack-Jack Cable Splicing, fourth in Hose Lay, fifth in Jack Pole Climbing, fifth in Jack-Jill Cable Splicing, and fifth in Prepared Speech.  

Becky Belcher finished with 37 points. She was second in Demo Speech, third in Jill Ax throw, third in Log Roll, third in prepared speech, fourth in Jill Choker, fifth in Hose Lay, fifth in Jack-Jill Splicing, sixth in Job Interview, sixth in Jack-Jill Cross Cut, and sixth in Power Buck.  

Christina Belcher finished with 22 points. She was first in Jill-Jill Cable Splice, fourth in Hose Lay, fourth in Log Roll, fifth in Jill-Jill Cross Cut, sixth in Written Expression, and sixth in Jill Arbor. 

CJ Mitchell finished with 19 points.  He was third in First Aid, fourth in Hose Lay, and fourth in Jack Arbor.  

LaceAnna Shiffert scored 18 points.  She was second in Jill Pole Climb, second in Jill Choker, and fifth in Written Expression. 

Lacey Wilson finished with 16 points.  She was first in Jill Pole Climb, and third in Jill-Jill Cable Splicing. 

Ruby Marsh scored 11 points. She was first in Choker Set and sixth in Log Roll.

Sam Mitchell scored 10 points. She was third in Jill-Jill Cable Splice, fifth in Hose Lay, and fifth in Jill-Jill Cross Cut. 

Alexis Hanna scored 9 points. She was fourth in Jill-Jill Cross Cut, fifth in Jack-Jill Cross Cut, fifth in Jill Power Buck, and sixth in Jill-Jill Cable Splice. 

Miguel McIntyre scored 8 points. He was fourth in Jack Ax throw, fifth in Jack-Jack Cable Splicing, and fifth in Hose Lay. 

Colin Owens scored 7 points. He was fifth in Jack-Jack Cable Splicing, and fifth in Hose Lay,  fifth in Jack-Jack Cross Cut, sixth in Jack-Jill Cross Cut.  

Shelby Rousey scored 5 points total. She was fourth in Jill Ax throw, and sixth in Jill-Jill Cable Splicing.  

Andrew Fox scored 4 points. He was fifth in Hose Lay, sixth in Jack-Jack Cross Cut, and sixth in Jack-Jack Cable Splicing. 

Tucker Downs scored 4 points. He was fifth in Jack-Jill Cross Cut, sixth in Log Roll, and sixth in Jack-Jack Cross Cut.

Also competing were Dacotah Pennington, and Justin Myronenko.
