Boys 2nd in district track as Huskies make state in 11 events

CONNOR RUSSELL finishes the season with a 3-inch PR of 5-7 in the high jump – and sixth place – in the district.

Sweet Home's boys track team finished second, to Cottage Grove, Saturday, May 12, at the end of the Sky-Em District track championships as the Huskies qualified five individuals – three boys and two girls – and all four relays in a total of 11 events for state.

Sophomore Megan Hager won district titles and qualified for state in both the shot and discus and senior Bethany Gingerich bounced back from an upset loss in the 100 hurdles to set a new meet record in winning the 300 hurdles.
