MaQatish, Plagmann qualify for November in contested race

During the May 15 election, Rachel Kittson-MaQatish won the most votes for Linn County Circuit Court judge, position one.

With 44.92 percent of the vote, 9,915 votes, she will face Teri L. Plagmann, who received 30.04 percent of the vote (6,631 votes) in the November general election. Rebecca Winters received 14.13 percent of the vote (3,120) and Jennifer S. Hisey won 10.33 percent of the vote (2,280).

For county commissioner position 1, Gary Sullivan ran unopposed for the Independent Party nomination. Stephanie Newton won the Democratic nomination with 5,337 votes (73.01 percent). Opponen...
