Board OKs boost to web access in schools

Sweet Home School District Internet service improved substantially this school year, and the board Monday approved another project to continue boosting performance at the elementary and junior high schools.

The district made big gains at the high school this year when it increased bandwidth by 500 percent and laid down 2 miles of new fiber optic lines, said Supt. Tom Yahraes. The old lines now exclusively serve the surveillance system, while the new lines provide better speed and reliability.
