Fire Poster Winners

Members of the Sweet Home High School Art Club and grand champions reveal this year's fire prevention signs. The art club painted the signs based on pictures made by the grand champions. They will be placed at Shea Point, Calapooia Road and Sunnyside Park by the Oregon Department of Forestry. From left are Leano Campos-Garcia, Abby Stone, Elizabeth Adams, grand champion Zoie Holt of Oak Heights, ODF Sweet Home Unit Forest Protection Supevisor Neil Miller, Katrina Reynolds, Ella Parker, grand champion Sabra Beckler of Hawthorne, Ruth Barten, Hanna Barten, art teacher Autumn Almonza and grand champion Katrina Names of Foster. The grand champions were selected from among the top three in five fourth-grade classrooms. From first through third place, winners are, Amelia Berg, Khaira Hall and Jim Morgan, Oak Heights; Zoie Holt, Bode Nichols and Dylan Lashley, Oak Heights; Miu Simmons, Austin Hicks and Elizabeth Dean, Foster; Katrina Names, Loralai Mark and Sophia Spurlock, Foster; and Sabra Beckler, Mitchell Stratman and Kaylie Cooley, Hawthorne.
