Oct. 23, 1937 - July 9, 2018
Margaret Joan "Peggy" Wagoner, 80, of Crawfordsville died July 9, 2018.
She was born Oct. 23, 1937 in Las Vegas to Richard and Nellie Marie (Goodwin) O'Hanlon.
Shortly before her birth, the family relocated to Southern California, where she grew up. She graduated from Chaffey High School in 1955 and a year later married Harvey Ferguson and from that marriage had three daughters: Cynthia Lynn, Kimberly Ann and Jennifer Rene.
The couple later divorced and she married Mel E. Wagoner, who brought three children into the family: Katherine Joy, Sandra Lynn and Steven Michael.
In 1975 the family moved just south of Crawfordsville, where they have lived ever since.
For many years Mrs. Wagoner worked as the secretary at the Sweet Home Free Methodist Church, now Hillside Fellowship, where she made many lifelong friends whom she considered family.
She loved and supported her entire family every day.
Over the years she had many hobbies, including hand-made Christmas decor items, sewing and stitchery work, and, with her husband, hosting the Country Memories wedding venue for many years.
Mrs. Wagoner leaves behind her devoted husband Mel; children Cynthia Lynn, Kimberly Ann and Jennifer Rene; step-children Katherine Joy, Sandra Lynn and Steven Michael; 18 grandchildren; and 24 (with two on the way) great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
At Mrs. Wagoner's request there will be no services.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House or Hillside Fellowship in Sweet Home.
Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
