August 29, 2018

Members of Sweet Home High School's class of 1968 held their 50-year class reunion Aug. 25 at Bob Blackwell's property near Crawfordsville. The celebration drew 65 former class members from as far away as Florida, who showed up for the event along with numerous spouses and family members. Class Valedictorian David Shipp came all the way from Pennsylvania for the event. A number of other classmates came from Washington, California, Colorado, Idaho and Arizona. The original Class of '68 numberd 199. A good time was had by all reminiscing about school days and catching up on what's been happening in each other's lives for the last 50 years plus enjoying some great food, class member Jack Hankins said. Two of the '68 graduates at the event, Ann (Fry) Cummins and Cody Carson, were also celebrating their birthdays. "Sadly just two weeks before the reunion we lost two of our former classmates, Jerry Murphy and JoAnne (Mosher) Gifford," Hankins noted.
