Creepy, crawly critters at library draw a packed house

A full house of mostly very attentive kids – of all ages – turned out Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 18, for a visit from Shanti Kriens of Creature Teachers, an organization in which representatives of family-owned live animals specialize in animal education. Kriens, of Eugene, showed the overflow crowd in the library's kids reading area a variety of creatures – including Madagascar cockroaches, a curlyhair tarantula from Costa Rica, a sulcarta tortoise and various snakes.
