Full-strength girls dominate two of state's top swim teams

Sweet Home's swimmers got a chance to see some of the state's best swimmers Friday at the Newport Quad meet, which featured the defending state champion boys as hosts, along with Sisters' girls, who were fourth at state last season.

The Husky girls didn't blink, and their depth helped them dominate the competition, scoring 470 points to Newport's 330 and 282 for Sisters.

"Not only did we win 10 of 11 events, but the quality of of our depth really helped keep the other teams from creeping up on us," Coach Doug Peargin said.

"I was glad to meet some quality teams this early in the season....
