Husky girls win inaugural OSAA South Regional wrestling championship

PLACEWINNERS for the Husky girls are, Kailey James, Paige Chafin, Jessy Hart, Lexi Schilling, Marissa Kurtz, Katen Edwards and Madelyn Neuschwander.

Sweet Home's girls won the team title Saturday, Feb. 2, at the inaugural OSAA South Regional state championship qualifying tournament, held at Thurston High School.

The Huskies qualified two wrestlers, senior Marissa Kurtz at 110 pounds and junior Lexi Schilling at 105, for the state championships, which will be held Feb. 23 during the boys championships tournament at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Portland.
