Gertrude Ina Johnson, 97, of Albany, formerly of Sweet Home, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, at the Mennonite Home.
She was born March 1, 1921 in Hubbard to Alvin and Barbara Ellen (Schultz) Hamilton.
She married Adolph Leonard Johnson on May 24, 1942 in Molalla. She has lived in Molalla and then settled in Sweet Home.
Gertrude was a member of the Sweet Home Mennonite Church.
She enjoyed quilting and embroidery. She was a phenomenal cook and baker. Everything she made was amazing.
Gertrude is survived by her sons, Warren of Harrisburg, Delmer of Eugene, and Byron of McMinnville; daughter Beverly Knox of Harrisburg; sister Norma Reeser of Albany; nine grandchildren; and 16 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence and Sanford Hamilton; and sister Grace Hafdahl.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Sweet Home Mennonite Church. Private family burial was held at Gilliland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to American Bible Society or Sweet Home Mennonite Church.
