Loss to 'good' Stayton team drops SH further in league

Sweet Home lost 55-41 Wednesday, Feb. 6, at third-ranked Stayton in boys basketball.

Stayton went ahead early, leading 17-6 after one quarter and 28-10 at halftime. The Eagles led 37-24 at the end of the third quarter.

“We got it within 11 at the beginning of the fourth,” said Coach Drew Emmert. “They’re a good team. They’re as good as it gets.”

Stayton beat fourth-ranked Woodburn in their second matchup of the season; and early in the season, Stayton also beat top-ranked Seaside while losing to second-ranked Banks.
