Police arrested a 42-year-old man for drunken driving following a single-vehicle crash in the Foster area on the evening of Feb. 11.

At approximately 7:37 pm, the Sweet Home Police Department received a report of a single-vehicle traffic collision near the intersection of 60th Avenue and Highway 20 in Sweet Home, Police Chief Jeff Lynn said.

Sweet Home police officers responded to find a 2003 Ford Expedition approximately 10 feet east of the roadway.

There were no injuries associated with the wreck, Lynn said.

Based on the investigation, officers determined that the vehicle had been traveling south on 60th Avenue approaching Highway 20 when the driver failed to negotiate the right-hand corner, according to police.

The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree causing substantial damage to both the vehicle and tree, police said.

The sole occupant of the vehicle, Robert John Culver, 42, of Sweet Home, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants and Reckless driving. He was also cited for refusal to take breath test.

Culver was booked, cited and released from the Sweet Home Police Department. The vehicle was impounded and towed from the scene.

Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact Sweet Home Police Officer David Hickcox at (541) 367-5181.
