Billy Gene Seibert, 55, a longtime resident of Sweet Home, died Feb. 13, 2019 from hypothermia and from a stroke with his family at his bedside.
He was born Jan. 25, 1964 to Bill F. Seibert and Margie Meadows, one of five siblings.
He grew up in the Sweet Home area and enjoyed being outdoors for most all of his life.
Mr. Seibert enjoyed the deep wilderness and hiking off the normal trails. He could be seen walking or riding his bike around town. He traveled to Georgia, Florida and Missouri, before returning to Sweet Home, where he lived for over 30 years.
He enjoyed a simple life and having no boundaries to hold him in one place. Mr. Seibert was known for greeting family or friends as he met them on the local streets.
He is survived by his mother, Margie Meadows; sisters Cheryl Johnson of Bend, Rebecca Seibert of Lebanon, and Donna Seibert of Aloha; and brother Michael of Christmas Valley; cousin Kathy Rice; three nieces; four nephews; and a great-niece and great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Elizabeth Seibert.
A memorial gathering will be held later this year.
The family requests no flowers. Those who would like to contribute are asked to donate to the local homeless shelter in Sweet Home or to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House, 4600 Evergreen Place SE, Alban, OR, 97322.
