Margueritte (Peggy) E. Arnold, 94, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Wiley Creek Assisted Living Facility in Sweet Home.

Peggy was born Sept. 8, 1924 in Avant, Okla.

Her family moved to Lebanon in the late 1930s. After a few years, they moved to Sweet Home, where Peggy graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1942.

She met her loving husband, Sheridan, through her best friend, who was Sheridan’s sister. They married in February 1946.

Peggy was a wonderful, godly woman who was a wonderful homemaker, volunteer at her church, Sweet Home Christian Church and the Sweet Home Gleaners.

She was awarded the Presidential Volunteer for Volunteerism. She was a wonderful artist, seamstress, crafter, storyteller and cook.

She dearly loved her family and the Lord, and she was dearly loved by anyone who met her.

Peggy will be dearly missed by all.

Left to remember her love are one son, Roger Arnold, and daughter-in-law Karen Arnold of Sweet Home; two granddaughters, Rebecca Morris and Deborah Galster; seven great-grand children and one great-great-grandson.

Peggy had two brothers who preceded her in death, as well as daughter, Sandra Arnold Spence, who also preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sweet Home Christian Church, 18th and Long Street.

A service is planned for 1 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Sweet Home Christian Church, 18th and Long.
