Genealogy tree

April 10, 2019

Sweet Home Genealogical Society President Teresa Riper, left, and Angela Thoma, vice president, stand next to a new genealogy tree, recently installed in the entryway of the Genealogical Library at 1223 Kalmia St. The family tree display will serve as a fundraiser for the society, in which the SHGS will sell leaves. The society relies on donations and memberships to survive. Riper's husband Rick made the tree, and her brother-in-law, Mike Cochran, donated the wood. Leaves will be sold to anyone interested in donating. They come in three sizes, costing $10, $15 and $20. Proceeds will go into a fund to keep the genealogical library open.
